I have a question to ask you so let me have your opinions – as full and open as you want to be.
This post might seem self-serving and I apologise for that (@Brandon, apologize) but it could also prove to be valuable for others on a similar journey. I willingly admit that I do not know everything and I seek your wisdom gained from your own experience.

Many of the incoming comments that make it through my spam filter into the pending queue are genuine and for that I am ever grateful to both my regular readers as well as the casual visitor who might be just passing through.

Blogging has changed a bit though over the years. It is no longer dominated by a loosely connected group of people writing their personal or political online diaries, but it has become a significant marketing platform comprising collections of very organised people who are online for very specific purposes. There are quite a few types of blogger online in 2010, most of which were unheard of five years ago.
